Oppo Find X9 Ultra New Renders Show redesigned back

2026 is shaping up to be a tough battlefield for Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, especially with Chinese brands preparing some of their most aggressive flagships yet. Oppo seems ready to lead that charge. The company’s upcoming OPPO Find X9 Ultra has just appeared in its first unofficial images, revealing a refreshed rear design and a camera system aimed squarely at the Ultra segment.

A redesigned back for the Find X9 Ultra

For the first time, we get a clear look at what the successor to the Find X8 Ultra might actually look like. After earlier spy shots showing the device alongside an external camera grip, leaker Yogesh Brar (via Smartprix) has now published renders illustrating what is claimed to be the final design direction. These aren’t official images. They were created by the leaker, partly with AI assistance, using allegedly accurate chassis details. Visual elements could still shift before launch, but the general layout should be close to what Oppo plans to ship.

The circular camera module remains familiar, but Oppo appears to be experimenting with new materials for the back panel. Instead of the soft vegan leather finishes seen across many Chinese flagships in recent years, the Find X9 Ultra adopts a hybrid construction: metal paired with a thicker, leather-like material. This creates a two-tone finish and gives the phone a slightly rugged, more industrial look. The leaked images show black and brown versions, with a striking orange option also rumored but not pictured. Standard glass versions are reportedly in development as well, though the bicolor leather model is expected to be marketed as the hero variant.

A heavyweight camera and flagship spec sheet

The spec sheet looks just as bold as the design. Oppo is reportedly equipping the Find X9 Ultra with Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 6.82-inch 2K 120 Hz AMOLED panel, and a massive 7,300 mAh battery — one of the largest capacities ever suggested for an Ultra-class flagship.

The camera system is where Oppo is pushing hardest. Multiple leaks, including posts from Digital Chat Station, mention a quad Hasselblad setup featuring a dual periscope telephoto system capable of 10x optical zoom — the first time we’ve seen this since Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra. The tele module is said to use a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor (1/1.95″), previously rumored to be Samsung’s ISOCELL JN5.

The ultrawide should indeed rely on a 50MP ISOCELL JN5 (1/2.76″), but the two main cameras are the most ambitious:

– 200MP Sony LYT-901 (1/1.12″, f/1.5)
– 200MP Omnivision periscope (1/1.28″, f/2.2, 3x optical)

According to the leak, the 3x periscope can optionally pair with a 300 mm teleconverter for up to 13.2x optical, avoiding digital zoom while maintaining quality — a very unusual feature for any smartphone.

A 50MP selfie camera is reportedly hidden on the front, though the leaked renders don’t reveal the exact placement.

Launch timeline

A China launch is expected early in Q2 2026, likely in April, with global availability to follow shortly afterward. Brar also hints at broader international plans this time, suggesting that Oppo wants the Find X9 Ultra to compete directly with Samsung outside China rather than remain a region-limited flagship.

If these leaks hold up, Samsung’s Ultra won’t be the only big device fighting for attention next year — Oppo seems ready to challenge it on design, battery, and especially on long-range zoom.
