Motorola’s next Edge-series phone has surfaced online ahead of launch, and the leaked renders suggest the company is making a noticeable design shift. The upcoming Motorola Edge (2026), expected to succeed last year’s Edge (2025), appears with a flat display, slimmer bezels and a textured rear finish that moves away from glossy surfaces.
The renders show two color variants so far: an olive green version with a woven-like texture on the back and another in a champagne gold finish. Motorola seems to be sticking with its familiar design language overall, including the left-aligned square camera island and centered punch-hole selfie camera, but there are a few tweaks that stand out immediately. The most obvious is the display itself. Unlike the curved panel used on the previous Edge model, the Edge (2026) reportedly adopts a fully flat screen with uniform bezels around all sides. It gives the device a more symmetrical and arguably more practical look, especially for gaming and media consumption.
The rear camera setup keeps a similar layout to the Edge (2025), although the hardware inside remains unconfirmed for now. Branding visible on the module mentions “Sony LYTIA,” “OIS” and “Super Zoom,” suggesting Motorola plans to equip the phone with a Sony-made primary sensor, optical image stabilization and telephoto zoom capabilities. The module houses three rear cameras in total, though focal lengths and megapixel counts have not leaked yet.
Another detail that returns is the extra button placed on the upper left side of the frame. Motorola introduced AI-focused shortcuts on some recent devices, and this additional key could once again serve as a dedicated AI trigger, customizable shortcut or quick-access camera button. Meanwhile, the power and volume controls remain on the right edge in typical Motorola fashion.
Specs are still mostly a mystery, but expectations are already forming based on the previous generation. The Motorola Edge (2025) shipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra processor, 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. It also featured a 6.7-inch OLED panel, fast 68W charging and a large battery, although one leaked report mistakenly listed the capacity at 52,000 mAh instead of the more realistic 5,200 mAh figure.
Motorola is expected to follow a similar release schedule this year, which points toward a possible unveiling in late May or sometime in June. Until then, more leaks are likely to fill in the blanks regarding performance, cameras and Motorola’s growing AI ambitions for the Edge lineup.
