Samsung may be preparing a brand-new addition to its flagship lineup, and this one could finally target people tired of giant phones. According to a report coming from South Korea’s ETNews, backed by well-known tipster Ice Universe, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro is shaping up as a smaller premium flagship that borrows high-end hardware from the Ultra series without the oversized footprint.
The rumored Galaxy S27 Pro would feature a 6.47-inch AMOLED display, placing it in that sweet spot between compact and premium. In a market where flagship phones keep getting bigger every year, Samsung may finally be acknowledging that not everyone wants a phone that barely fits in a pocket or requires two hands for basic use.
One of the most interesting leaks involves something called “Privacy Display” technology. If accurate, the feature would reduce viewing angles from the sides, making the screen harder to read for people nearby. Think trains, airports, cafés or office spaces where someone constantly peeks at your messages. Samsung appears to be turning privacy into an actual hardware feature instead of just another software toggle buried in settings.
Unlike the Galaxy S Ultra lineup, the S27 Pro reportedly skips S Pen support entirely. That’s probably intentional. Samsung seems to be positioning this device as a cleaner, lighter and more approachable flagship instead of another productivity monster loaded with extra bulk. In many ways, it sounds like Samsung trying to build the Android equivalent of a “Pro compact” phone.
Camera specs could also end up being surprisingly aggressive for a non-Ultra model. Current rumors point toward a 200MP main sensor paired with both a 50MP telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. If Samsung actually ships this hardware, the Galaxy S27 Pro may end up delivering flagship photography without forcing users into the much larger Ultra chassis.
The design shown in recent concept renders also leans toward a flatter and cleaner aesthetic, with a horizontal camera island replacing Samsung’s floating lens approach seen on previous Galaxy S models. It almost feels like Samsung is experimenting with a softer industrial design language ahead of a bigger visual refresh for the S27 generation.
Of course, none of this is official yet, and Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the Galaxy S27 Pro. Still, if these leaks prove accurate, the device could become one of the most interesting Android flagships of 2027 — especially for users who want top-tier cameras and AI features without carrying around a tablet-sized phone.
