ASUS is set to unveil the ROG Phone 9 series on November 19, with the lineup expected to include two models: the ROG Phone 9 and the ROG Phone 9 Pro. Both will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, as confirmed by ASUS during the Snapdragon Summit. Now, exclusive renders shared with 91mobiles reveal the full design of the ROG Phone 9 Pro, giving us a closer look at the device and its accessories.
The ROG Phone 9 Pro retains much of the design language from its predecessor, the ROG Phone 8, with some subtle refinements. The front features a punch-hole display, while the back houses a compact camera island in the top-left corner. This island includes a triple-camera system with an LED flash, along with ROG branding on the side. The renders also show the phone in a dark gray/black finish with a textured back panel, maintaining a sleek yet understated look, a departure from the more flashy designs of previous ROG models.
A key accessory shown in the renders is the AeroActive Cooler X, a dock that attaches to the back of the phone, designed to keep the device cool during extended gaming sessions. It also provides extra ports for charging and other connections. However, it remains unclear if this is the same version as the one included with the ROG Phone 8 or if ASUS has made any upgrades to this cooling system for the ROG Phone 9 series.
The renders also reveal a protective case with elevated corners to protect the phone from damage during drops. ASUS has confirmed that the ROG Phone 9 Pro will be available in a white variant, in addition to the dark gray/black model, based on the teaser images.
Under the hood, ASUS has only confirmed the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset so far, but expectations are high for powerful gaming performance, continuing the legacy of previous ROG Phone generations. ASUS has teased the possibility of new AI-driven gaming features, potentially enhancing the gaming experience through smarter controls or optimized performance.
A recent hands-on video leak suggests a more premium build quality for the ROG Phone 9 Pro, with improvements in materials and overall design. However, the overall design language remains similar to the ROG Phone 8, focusing on function over flashiness. The device has also appeared in certification listings, confirming 65W charging, the same as its predecessor. While the core specifications seem familiar, ASUS is likely focusing on refining key gaming features like the Air triggers, improved heat management, and other enhancements to elevate the gaming experience.
With the launch just around the corner, more details about the ROG Phone 9 Pro’s performance and additional features will be revealed soon.
