First Moto G86 Renders Leak — And It’s Giving Edge Vibes

The Moto G85 dropped last June, so it’s just about time for a refresh — and now, thanks to newly leaked renders, we’re getting our first real look at what could be the Moto G86. If these images hold up, Motorola seems to be taking the G series in a more premium-looking direction.

The design here is strikingly reminiscent of the Edge 60 Fusion, especially the camera island, which looks nearly identical to its upper-midrange cousin. It’s a surprising move for a phone that’s still part of the G family — traditionally a more budget-friendly series — but it could signal Motorola’s plan to streamline its aesthetic across the lineup.

There are two colorways shown in the leak: a sleek dark blue with what looks like faux leather, and a bold purple variant with a back described as a “mix of felt and textile.” If true, that’s an unexpected (and potentially very cool) material choice for a mid-ranger.

Up front, the G86 sticks with a flat display flanked by fairly slim bezels, though the top and bottom borders appear chunkier than the sides. Under the hood, it’s said to feature a 50MP main shooter using a Sony Lytia sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). Dolby Atmos support is also in the mix.

Pricing already leaked last month — expect the G86 to land at €330 in Europe with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. No word yet on an official launch date, but with renders out in the wild, it probably won’t be long.
