Motorola was among the first companies to announce that it’s preparing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 flagship and we may have just seen it. The Motorola Edge X or Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has leaked courtesy of @onleaks and 91mobiles and we get to detail it below.
The device doesn’t exactly excite us, as far as the design is concerned, sporting a 6.67 inch AMOLED screen with 144 Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The panel is flat is it’s supposed to integrate a 60 megapixel selfie camera in a punch hole. The back camera is similar in look with the Oppo Reno or OnePlus ones, albeit with rounded corners of the cam module.
The back cam hosts a 50 megapixel main shooter and also a 50 MP ultrawide shooter plus a third 2 MP cam, probably for Bokeh or Macro. Apparently, the main 50 MP camera is borrowed from the Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. There’s no telephoto camera here, which is a bit of a bummer for an “Ultra”. A 5000 mAh battery will be included inside, with 68W fast charging. The smartphone measures 163.1 x 76.5 x 8.8 mm, but it’s all bumped up to 10 mm with the camera bump.
Motorola Edge 20 Ultra should come in Gray or Blue and arrive in Q1 2022. 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and an IP52 water and dust resistance are among the specs. LPDDR5x and UFS 3.1 standards are here. The price will decide its success.
