Samsung may have just wrapped up its latest Galaxy Unpacked event—with all eyes on the foldable Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7—but it’s not done for the year. The company’s next mainstream launch is already taking shape, and thanks to a recent leak and WPC certification, we’ve now caught our first real glimpse of the Galaxy S25 FE.
Though the Fan Edition line is positioned as a “flagship-lite,” this year’s model looks to blur the lines even further between premium and midrange—at least when it comes to industrial design.
From the leaked photo and existing renders, it’s clear the Galaxy S25 FE continues Samsung’s commitment to visual consistency across the S25 family. The rear design sticks with the now-familiar vertical triple-camera layout, each lens individually housed in its own ring. The edges remain flat, but the corners are softly rounded for a more comfortable in-hand feel.
There’s a centered hole-punch selfie camera, and this time, the back appears to favor a matte glass finish—likely improving grip and reducing fingerprint smudging. What’s more, rumors suggest the FE will make the jump to Armor Aluminum, which has helped shave down the chassis to just 7.4mm in thickness and 190g in weight, making it slimmer and lighter than last year’s 8.0mm/213g profile.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S25 FE looks like a carefully considered mix of specs. A 6.7-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate is returning, but there’s chatter of a potential upgrade to LTPO tech for variable refresh between 1Hz and 120Hz. Still, resolution holds at Full HD+, distinguishing it from the S25+’s sharper 1440p+ display. Gorilla Glass Victus+ is expected on the front, rather than the tougher Victus 2 used on its pricier siblings. Wireless charging is confirmed through Qi2 certification, though likely still capped at 15W. Wired charging gets a welcome upgrade to 45W, finally aligning the FE model with faster charging seen elsewhere in the lineup.
Performance-wise, the Galaxy S25 FE ditches the slightly underclocked Exynos 2400e from the S24 FE and instead opts for the full-fat Exynos 2400. While still not a Snapdragon flagship, this chip should bring marginal gains in processing and graphics performance. Early Geekbench results suggest 8GB of RAM as standard, with 128GB, 256GB, and even a 512GB storage tier in the pipeline. A 4,900 mAh battery rounds out the package, offering a modest 200 mAh bump over the previous model.
The camera setup doesn’t shake things up much—on the back, we’re likely looking at the same triple combo: a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultrawide, and an 8MP 3x telephoto. However, the front-facing camera may finally get an upgrade to 12MP with autofocus, a welcome change for video calls and selfies, especially if it reuses hardware from the S25 flagship.
Samsung hasn’t officially confirmed a release date, but based on past patterns, an October launch window seems highly probable—likely arriving alongside the Galaxy Tab S11 series. The FE lineup continues to target enthusiasts who want flagship polish without the flagship price, and based on what we know so far, the Galaxy S25 FE could be its most refined iteration yet. If the design holds and the performance tweaks land as expected, Samsung may have another crowd-pleaser on its hands.
