Samsung’s fan-favorite FE series is gearing up for a return — and it looks like the Galaxy S25 FE will land before the end of 2025, not in 2026 as some expected. New CAD-based renders, shared by SammyGuru and OnLeaks, give us an early look at the design of Samsung’s next “flagship-lite,” and the message is clear: evolution, not revolution.
S24 FE DNA, but slightly more refined
At first glance, the Galaxy S25 FE looks nearly identical to the S24 FE — and that’s not a bad thing. The device retains a metal chassis with flat edges, a centered punch-hole display, and a triple rear camera array aligned vertically in true Galaxy fashion. The volume and power buttons sit along the right edge, while the USB-C port, SIM tray, and speaker grille are clustered along the bottom. You’ll also find a second microphone up top.
But a closer inspection reveals subtle tweaks. The S25 FE measures 161.4 x 76.6 x 7.4 mm, slightly more compact and thinner than the 162 x 77.3 x 8.0 mm S24 FE. That may sound minor, but in hand, it could translate to a noticeably sleeker feel — and thanks to thinner bezels, the phone still manages to pack the same 6.7-inch display into a smaller footprint.
Brighter Super AMOLED, flagship specs
The panel is once again Super AMOLED, with a buttery-smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a significant jump in brightness — up to 2,600 nits peak, which could make it one of the brightest non-Ultra Samsung phones to date. Resolution details weren’t confirmed, but expect something in the FHD+ to QHD range.
Under the hood, things get more interesting. Depending on the region, the Galaxy S25 FE is rumored to ship with either the Exynos 2400 or MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 — a change that suggests Samsung is still exploring multi-chip strategies across its lineups. The phone will reportedly come with 12GB of RAM, and 256GB or 512GB of storage, making it a solid contender in the upper-midrange space.
Cameras: no surprises, just consistency
On the front, the 12MP selfie camera returns. Around back, the triple-lens setup includes a 50MP main sensor with OIS, an 8MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide — mirroring the formula from previous FE models and likely offering solid all-around performance for photography.
Still no silicon battery?
One concern with the slimmer body: battery life. While the exact battery capacity hasn’t leaked yet, the S25 FE’s thinner frame (by 0.6 mm) raises questions about whether Samsung will downsize the cell. Given the company’s cautious approach to silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery tech, a smaller battery could be the tradeoff here — though we’re hoping for software optimization or better efficiency from the chipset to close the gap.
Launch timing and expectations
Samsung hasn’t officially acknowledged the Galaxy S25 FE, but multiple sources suggest a Q4 2025 launch, possibly following the unveiling of the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in July. If priced right, the S25 FE could hit a sweet spot for users who want near-flagship performance without the Ultra-tier price tag — especially with Android 16 and One UI 8 expected out of the box.
In short, the Galaxy S25 FE may not be flashy, but it’s shaping up to be a well-balanced, thoughtfully updated entry in Samsung’s increasingly consistent fan edition playbook.
