Google Pixel 10 series leak teases bold new colors, AI camera tricks, and first-ever fully Google-made chip

The Pixel 10 series might still be a few months away, but Google’s next flagship phones are already leaking in high definition. Over the weekend, a flurry of Pixel 10 news dropped—from a full set of wallpapers and color options to a sneak peek at the phone’s AI features and its powerful new Tensor G5 chipset, designed in-house by Google and manufactured by TSMC on a cutting-edge 3nm node.

The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to be unveiled in August 2025, keeping with the earlier-than-usual launch strategy introduced with the Pixel 9 series. One model has even reportedly been spotted out in the wild—during a commercial shoot on a beach in Vancouver.

A new look, and a new color palette to match

Leaker Mystic Leaks posted a ZIP archive with 40 wallpapers (light and dark mode) that will ship with the Pixel 10 series. Each wallpaper is designed to complement the phone’s official color variants:

Pixel 10 colors:

  • Obsidian (Black)
  • Blue
  • Iris (Purple)
  • Limoncello (Yellow)

Pixel 10 Pro / Pro XL colors:

  • Obsidian (Black)
  • Green
  • Sterling (Gray)
  • Porcelain (White)

The leaked footage from the ad shoot lines up with these reports, showing a blue-ish Pixel 10 unit with Google’s new camera design — a glossy black oval island, slightly enlarged to house the flash and new sensors. Expect this look across the entire Pixel 10 lineup.

Google’s first real in-house chip: Tensor G5

Perhaps the biggest leap this year is happening under the hood. For the first time, Google is ditching Samsung’s Exynos-derived silicon in favor of a fully custom chip built from scratch: the Tensor G5. It’s manufactured by TSMC on its N3P 3nm node, offering better efficiency, cooler thermals, and performance gains across the board.

Even the modem is new—no more Samsung 5G components. Instead, Google is reportedly going with a MediaTek modem, a notable shift for the company’s connectivity stack.

AI gets personal: Google Add Me

One of the standout new features will be Google Add Me — an AI-powered camera mode that lets users insert themselves into group photos after the picture is taken. Whether the photographer wants to join a shot or multiple takes need stitching, the AI blends subjects into the same setting seamlessly. It’s another bold play by Google to lean into AI-first smartphone photography.

Pricing, updates, and what’s missing

Leaked pricing suggests:

  • Pixel 10: starting at \$799
  • Pixel 10 Pro: from \$999
  • Pixel 10 Pro XL: likely \$1,199
  • Pixel 10 Pro Fold (rumored): a price cut to \$1,599, down from \$1,799 last year

All Pixel 10 models are expected to ship with Android 16 and receive seven years of OS updates, taking them through Android 23 — matching Google’s new long-term support commitment.

No leaks have yet confirmed exact display sizes, RAM configurations, or charging specs, but the Pixel 10 Pro is expected to stick close to its predecessor: 6.7-inch OLED, up to 12GB RAM, and wireless charging.
