OnePlus has officially confirmed that the Nord 5 and Nord CE 5 will be unveiled on July 8, 2025, but leakers have once again beaten the company to the punch. @OnLeaks, a reliable source with a strong track record, has published high-quality renders and a full list of specs for both models. From the start, the Nord 5 is shaping up to be a true “flagship killer,” with refined design, powerful internals, and a clear focus on performance and battery life.
The OnePlus Nord 5 marks a major upgrade over its predecessor, the Nord 4. At its core is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, one of Qualcomm’s newest and most capable mid-range chipsets. The phone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1272 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Memory options include 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage, positioning it firmly in the premium mid-range segment. Powering it all is a 5200mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging, a signature OnePlus combo known for solid endurance and fast top-ups.
On the camera front, the Nord 5 packs a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and an unexpected treat in this price range: a 50MP selfie camera. Yes, really — the front cam isn’t just an afterthought. The device is rated IP65, meaning it’s splash and dust resistant but not fully waterproof. The design leans minimalist, with a monochrome back and a neatly framed vertical oval housing for the camera module.
For those looking for a more affordable option, the OnePlus Nord CE 5 might be the better fit. It’s powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350, comes with 8GB RAM, and offers 128GB or 256GB of storage. The AMOLED display measures 6.77 inches with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2392 x 1080 resolution — a step below the Nord 5 but still respectable. It shares the same 5200mAh battery and 80W charging, and the rear camera setup mirrors that of the Nord 5 (50MP + 8MP). The selfie camera, however, drops to 16MP, which is expected from a “Core Edition” model.
Physically, the two are very close in size: the Nord 5 measures 163.41 x 77.04 x 8.1mm and weighs 211g, while the Nord CE 5 comes in at 163.58 x 76.02 x 8.27mm and 199g. The CE 5 is slightly thinner and lighter, though the difference is minimal. However, it’s only rated IP54 for water resistance compared to the Nord 5’s IP65. The CE 5 will be available in Black Infinity and Marble Mist, while the Nord 5 comes in Dry Ice, Marble Sands, and Phantom Gray — a more diverse and slightly more premium color lineup.
As for pricing, official numbers are still under wraps. However, based on previous Nord launches and these specs, the OnePlus Nord 5 could start around €429 (~2130 RON), while the CE 5 may fall in the €350–€370 range. Both devices are confirmed for European availability.
