Federico Ciccarese just sent me one of his designs, a new iPhone 5 render, that he created taking into account all the rumors floating around about the next generation of Apple handset. The key concept here was elegance and a curved form factor that Apple hasn’t approached just yet, at least not on the iPhone.
As you remember older iMacs were big on curves and the first iPhones were also pretty curved. With the iPhone 4 came a more rectangular approach, those nifty round buttons and no trace of curves. Now, Federico wants a curved back iPhone and most likely a curved display as well. I suppose this is a quad core iPhone, since that’s what the rumors are saying. Also, the camera is probably the same 8 megapixel affair, that’s evolved enough to be kept that way for a year or two, maybe with a 3D option thrown in for fun.
I also expect yet another GPU bump for the phone, for even more impressive gaming on the smartphone. Also, as you can see the Apple logo on the back lights up, a feat that people have dreamt of having on the iPhones and iPads for a while. This can also be done with a special hardware tweak, but that’s another story. So, what do you say? Is there any chance that Tim Cook and co will go with a curved Apple phone?
