Meet the Google Pixel 10 Pro—and if you’ve seen the Pixel 9 Pro, you’ve basically seen this one too. Based on newly leaked CAD renders, Google isn’t making any major design overhauls this year. The Pixel 10 Pro keeps the exact same dimensions as its predecessor at 152.8 x 72 x 8.6mm, making it just 0.1mm thicker than the Pixel 9 Pro. The display? Still 6.3 inches, unchanged from last year.
If that sounds familiar, it should—because these are also the exact same dimensions we reported yesterday for the standard Pixel 10. Much like last year’s Pixel 9 lineup, both the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro will share the same footprint, making cross-compatibility for cases a breeze.
What’s Actually New?
The leaked renders confirm the triple-camera setup on the Pixel 10 Pro, complete with a periscope telephoto lens. Google is sticking with its design choices, placing the power button above the volume rocker and opting for glossy sides—a move meant to give the device a more premium look but, in reality, just turns it into a fingerprint magnet if you go caseless.
The Real Upgrade: Tensor G5
The biggest change is happening under the hood. The Pixel 10 Pro will debut Google’s Tensor G5, which marks a major shift: for the first time, Google is moving away from Samsung Foundry and instead partnering with TSMC for chip production.
If you’ve used a recent Pixel, you know why this matters. Google’s previous Tensor chips struggled with overheating, sluggish performance, and modem issues—all of which stemmed from Samsung’s manufacturing. While the Tensor G4 in the Pixel 9 improved on some of these problems, it was still far from perfect. With TSMC now at the helm, expectations are high for better efficiency, cooler thermals, and a much-needed performance boost.
That said, don’t expect Google to chase raw benchmark numbers. Tensor chips have always been AI-first, and that’s not changing with the G5. Instead of trying to beat Apple’s A-series or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon in brute force, Google is likely doubling down on AI-driven performance for tasks like on-device photo processing, real-time transcription, and Assistant enhancements.
With the Pixel 10 Pro shaping up to be more of an iterative update than a full redesign, the real question is whether Tensor G5 can finally deliver the performance Pixel users have been waiting for.
More details should emerge in the coming months, but for now, the Pixel 10 Pro looks like a familiar face with an important upgrade under the hood.
