Google Pixel 9a Leaked With Redesigned Camera Module

Google has a knack for keeping us glued to our screens, whether it’s through rumors, leaks, or official launches. Today, out of nowhere, the Google Pixel 9a has made an appearance online, thanks to a leak from a private Facebook group. What we’re seeing appears to be a pre-production unit, and while the source has a mixed reputation, this leak is intriguing nonetheless. The device features a placeholder logo, similar to what we’ve seen on previous Pixel prototypes.

The Pixel 9a sports a large display with slim bezels and a brand-new camera design that’s notably subtle and non-intrusive. The flat frame and display mark a departure from the “visor” design of its predecessors, which some might say detracts from the Pixel’s distinctive character.

According to well-known leaker ShrimpApplePro, who has connections close to Google, the Pixel 9a isn’t expected to launch until spring 2025, likely during the I/O 2025 event in May.

The handset is rumored to come in four color options, including dark gray and silver. Pricing is expected to hover around the same level as the Pixel 8a, likely around $400, and there’s speculation that the controversial Tensor G4 processor could power it. As for the camera setup, we might see a 50 MP main sensor paired with a 13 MP ultrawide. Additionally, the display size could increase from 6.1 inches to something between 6.3 and 6.7 inches, depending on the final product variants.
