HONOR WIN Gaming Phone Rendered; Is the fan Necessary?

HONOR appears ready to re-enter a category many thought had lost its momentum: gaming phones. Leaked renders circulating on Weibo suggest the company is preparing a new lineup called HONOR WIN, marking a notable shift beyond its recent focus on ultra-large batteries and endurance-first devices.

The timing is interesting. ASUS’ ROG Phone 10 has yet to materialize, Nubia’s Red Magic refresh is nowhere to be seen, and Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite platforms are still waiting for dedicated gaming hardware to show them off properly. HONOR seems eager to fill that gap.

The leaked images show a phone that looks deliberately bold but not cartoonish. The back is dominated by a large, rectangular camera module that stretches across the upper portion of the device, visually echoing the slab-like confidence of recent iPhone Pro designs. But there’s a twist: one of the circular elements doesn’t appear to be a camera at all. Instead, it looks very much like an active cooling fan, a feature long associated with hardcore gaming phones but still rare in mainstream designs.

A small “WIN” logo sits on the module itself, standing out sharply against the otherwise clean back panel. It’s a slightly jarring branding choice, but also one that makes the phone immediately recognizable. Color options shown so far include black, deep blue, and a lighter cyan finish. The device appears flat on both the front and sides, reinforcing a sturdy, performance-first aesthetic rather than chasing curved-glass elegance.

According to current rumors, the standard HONOR WIN will run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, while a higher-end HONOR WIN Pro could debut with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Both models are said to feature 6.8-inch OLED displays with 1.5K resolution and very high refresh rates, clearly aimed at competitive gaming and sustained performance.

The biggest surprise, however, may be the battery. One variant is rumored to pack a massive 10,000 mAh cell paired with 100W fast charging, a spec that borders on tablet territory and could redefine expectations for gaming phone endurance.
