Motorola isn’t stopping with its launches, even as summer winds down, with the upcoming release of the Edge 50 Neo and moto g55. The latter, a mid-range device, has appeared in official-looking renders shared by the well-known leaker Evan Blass.
Visually, at least from the front (the only images available so far), there don’t seem to be significant changes from its predecessor. The moto g55 features the same thick top and bottom bezels, slightly narrower side bezels, a punch-hole selfie camera, and a polycarbonate body.
The physical buttons are located on the right side, alongside the USB-C port at the bottom, a 3.5mm audio jack, a speaker grille, and a microphone.
The moto g55 sports a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, and its body is expected to be made of polycarbonate. The back of the device remains unseen, though significant changes are not expected there either. The specs might see some upgrades, and it would be interesting to see a new chipset replacing the Dimensity 7020 from its predecessor. The g54 model performed well with up to 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage, and a microSD slot. The main camera was 50 MP with OIS, accompanied by a 2 MP macro sensor. An ultra-wide with AF would be ideal, though that might be too much to expect at this price point.
