My first thought when I saw the CMF Phone 3 concept here was that it resembles a spotted iPhone 17 Pro. It’s got the orange hue and gets a ton of circles that distract and don’t quite make sense.
It’s also true that CMF has been using those circles as an identity move lately. The device gets the previous gen iPhone camera, in the vein of the 16 Pro, 15 Pro, 14 Pro models. It’s a square unit, with LED flash at the top and an extra sensor below. The odd thing is the extra cutout on the right of the camera, which may just be another camera sensor helper.
The creation of designer Glum_Good_6414, this device brings a side mounted accessory point. It looks like a strap or handle attachment, for a lanyard. There are also textured side rails for extra grip and visual appeal. The form factor may look clean, but those circles are very distracting. The screws that are visible also means that the device is highly repairable. This creation comes from Reddit and it’s shown in orange, olive green, white and black.
At the end of the day, like it or hate it, it looks very much like an iPhone with a case.
