In the world of industrial design, imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery — but sometimes, it borders on clairvoyance. Nubia’s upcoming ultra-slim smartphone, aptly named the Nubia Air, has just leaked in full: official renders, real-life images, and the complete spec sheet are now public. And the most striking takeaway? It looks astonishingly like what insiders claim the iPhone 17 Air will be — even though Apple hasn’t even announced it yet.
The leaked render shows a sleek champagne gold body with flat edges, a centrally aligned punch-hole display, and a minimalist rear camera bar that blends Pixel aesthetics with unmistakable Apple overtones. The triple-lens camera array is housed in a black horizontal strip, complete with a red-accented sensor that vaguely evokes Apple’s LiDAR language. There’s something eerily familiar about this layout — the kind of symmetry and polish typically reserved for Apple’s design lab.

Then there’s the physical profile. At just 6.7 mm thick and 172 grams, the Nubia Air is unapologetically chasing the “Air” identity — and beating Apple to the punch in name and form factor. The side rails are flat, clean, and metal, with a red power button on the right that feels like a nod (or jab) to Apple’s rumored color-accented buttons for the next-gen iPhone. The left side is completely barren, echoing Apple’s own minimalist design ethos.
Specs-wise, Nubia Air is a mid-range device powered by the Unisoc T8300 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It runs Android 15 and features a 6.78-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1224 x 2720 pixels. The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor, plus 2MP and 0.08MP auxiliary cameras, and a 20MP selfie cam. It houses a 5000mAh battery and supports dual-SIM, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C 2.0 connectivity.
