OnePlus Open Design Renders Leaked Again, With Brand New Camera Module

It’s August now, so we’re supposed to be days away from the big unveiling of the OnePlus Open foldable phone. It should come in New York this month and it’s been no stranger to leaks so far. We have more info about it below and a fresh set of renders.

Now we’re hearing that the launch may actually be delayed till September even. The company did well to tease the product a bunch of times, but the exact launch date is still a mystery. OnePlus Open has been leaked now in renders courtesy of SmartPrix and tipster OnLeaks. What we’re seeing here are renders based on pre production pictures.

Taking on the Galaxy Z Fold 5, the device has a rather large and round module at the back side. It covers the top half of the handset and below it we find the OnePlus logo. There’s a triple back camera here, with a periscope cam included and the Hasselblad logo also present. There’s an extra fourth senor, a ToF one or LiDAR one.

The phone is said to be wider than the previous prototype and clearly has some common elements with the OPPO Find N2. This makes the outer screen broader and more compact. The screen features rounded corners and smaller bezels. OnLeaks clams that the outer frame’s corners have a rounded profile on the hinge side and the Open also comes with a flat outer frame.

The selfie camera makes it to the inside of the top right corner. We also get the iconic OnePlus alert slider in the mix, a side placed fingerprint scanner and a faux leather back panel. Specs include a 7.8 inch AMOLED main screen with a 2K resolution and support for 120 Hz refresh rate. On the outside there’s a 6.3 inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

We also have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU here, 16 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a 4800 mAh battery with 67W of charging.
