OPPO is getting ready to shake up the premium smartphone space once again. The company has officially confirmed that the Find X8 Ultra, Find X8s, and Find X8s+ will launch in China on April 10, and today we’re getting our first proper look at the phones, thanks to freshly released renders. Spoiler: they look every bit as premium as you’d expect.
The headliner here is the Find X8 Ultra, OPPO’s new flagship. Unlike previous models, this one goes with a flat display, and yes — that camera bump is real. OPPO has packed in two periscope telephoto lenses, suggesting big zoom ambitions. Color options include Moonlight White, Morning Light, and Hoshino Black, with configurations ranging from 12GB + 256GB all the way up to 16GB + 1TB with satellite communication support.
Under the hood, it’s just as stacked:
- 6.82-inch QHD+ LTPO AMOLED display (up to 120Hz, 2160Hz PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, OPPO Crystal Shield)
- Snapdragon 8 Elite (3nm) chipset with Adreno 830 GPU
- Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage
- Android 15 with ColorOS 15
- Quad-camera system headlined by a 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT-900 sensor, a 120° ultra-wide, a 3x periscope, and a 6x periscope (Sony LYT-600) with up to 120x digital zoom, all Hasselblad-tuned
- 32MP front camera
- In-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, IR sensor, IP68/IP69 rating
- 6100mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC and 50W wireless charging
- Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, dual-antenna NFC, full GNSS suite, and USB-C
One unique touch? A touch-sensitive key on the right side that doubles as a camera shutter and zoom controller.
OPPO isn’t stopping with just one flagship. The Find X8s and X8s+ bring cutting-edge hardware to slimmer, lighter devices. OPPO claims the X8s features the thinnest bezels ever on a phone — just 1.25mm on all sides. The phone is just 7.73mm thick and weighs 179g, despite packing a 5700mAh battery.
These are also the first phones powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+, built on a 3nm process.
Expected specs include:
- 6.3 or 6.59-inch AMOLED displays (120Hz refresh, up to 4500 nits brightness, Dolby Vision, OPPO Crystal Shield)
- Dimensity 9400+ SoC with Immortalis-G925 GPU
- Up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage
- Android 15 + ColorOS 15
- Triple rear cameras: 50MP main (OIS), 50MP ultra-wide, 50MP 3x periscope with up to 120x digital zoom
- 32MP front camera
- In-display fingerprint scanner, IR sensor, IP68/IP69
- 5700mAh (X8s) / 6000mAh (X8s+) batteries, 80W wired and 50W wireless charging
While the X8s+ shares most of the design language with the Ultra, the standard X8s gets a more compact camera module, which lines up with earlier leaks.
One change for both the X8 Ultra and X8s+? They drop the alert slider found on the standard X8 and X8 Pro in favor of a button in the same spot.
