Samsung Galaxy A26 leaks in new images; Teardrop notch persists

Samsung is on a mid-range leak spree. In the last 24 hours, we’ve seen renders of the Galaxy A56, A36, and now the Galaxy A26. First spotted back in November 2024, this entry-level model has now resurfaced in fresh images, courtesy of leaker Arsène Lupin on X (formerly Twitter).

And yes, the notch lives on—at least for another year. While many smartphones have moved on to punch-hole cameras, the Galaxy A26 still features a small, rounded teardrop-style notch for its selfie camera. In contrast, the back of the device aligns with the design language of its A-series siblings, the A36 and A56.

A familiar design with a few notable tweaks

Unlike its predecessor, which had separate camera rings, the Galaxy A26 integrates its rear cameras into a single elongated module, similar to the Galaxy A36 and A56. The display remains flat, and the phone will launch in white, black, and mint green color options.

As for the specs, the Galaxy A26 is expected to feature a 6.64-inch or 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It measures 164 x 77.5 x 7.7mm and weighs 209g, making it slightly slimmer than its predecessor, which was 8.3mm thick and weighed 197g.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Exynos 1280 chipset, paired with at least 6GB of RAM, and runs Android 15 with One UI 7.0. A 5,000mAh battery will keep things running, though fast charging details are still unclear.

The budget AMOLED smartphone to watch?

Leaked renders via Android Headlines (in collaboration with OnLeaks) suggest that the Galaxy A26 will feature an Infinity-U display, with a noticeable bottom bezel but slim side bezels. A new addition to the design is Samsung’s “Key Island” concept, where the volume and power buttons are positioned in a slightly raised area of the frame. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, the chassis and edges are likely made of polycarbonate.

Interestingly, the Galaxy A26 5G recently appeared on Geekbench, further reinforcing the Exynos 1280 processor rumors. However, camera details remain scarce at this point.

With its predecessor launching in December 2023, Samsung could unveil the Galaxy A26 even sooner than expected. Given its rumored AMOLED display and 5G support at a budget price, this could be one of Samsung’s most competitive entry-level phones of the year.
