Samsung Galaxy A36 design leaks in 360° video—looks almost identical to the A56

Samsung’s mid-range lineup is shaping up to be a game of spot-the-difference. Just a day after the Galaxy A56 leaked in full 360°, reliable tipster Evan Blass has now dropped renders of the more affordable Galaxy A36. And—shockingly—it looks nearly identical to its more expensive sibling.

Much like the A56, the A36 sticks to Samsung’s new camera island design, which replaces last year’s floating lens aesthetic. The phone features a flat frame, a centered punch-hole selfie camera, and Samsung’s familiar “Key Island” on the right side for its physical buttons. It’ll be available in four colors: black, olive, violet, and white (though Samsung will likely slap some fancy marketing names on them).

A subtle refresh, but what’s inside?

Under the hood, the Galaxy A36 is rumored to pack a 6.6-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 (versus the Exynos 1580 in the A56), and a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The main camera sticks to 50MP, though details about the secondary sensors remain unclear. A small upgrade could be coming to the selfie cam, which might jump to 12MP.

A Geekbench listing also confirms that the A36 will ship with Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7, alongside 6GB of RAM.

Launch timeline and availability

Samsung is expected to officially unveil the Galaxy A36, A56, and possibly the A26 sometime in mid-March. The A36 is confirmed for the U.S., but it’s still unclear if the A56 will make it stateside.

So, here’s the real question: If we swapped the names on these renders, would you be able to tell them apart? Samsung’s mid-range strategy this year seems to be all about subtle tweaks rather than major overhauls.

Would you upgrade? Or does this feel like the same phone with a new coat of paint?
