Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra brought some design changes compared to its predecessor: it integrated the stylus in a slot and also got rid of the large camera module. The S23 Ultra won’t change much, apparently only ditching the metal ring around some of the camera sensors. Today we get a new theory (and render) regarding the screen.
I feel the need to remind you that the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to be unveiled during an Unpacked event taking place on February 1st 2023. It could be sold in a week or two afterwards. The S22 Ultra had curved sides, which created a sort of bezel-less look. It also allowed for a more comfortable grip. Some users complained though that the curved edges would cause problems with the stylus use. Using an S-Pen on a flat screen actually makes more sense. The curved design also distorts light around the screen and may create some glare.
Also, curved panels tend to be more prone to cracking and scratching than flat ones. Deciding to solve this, tipster Ahmed Qwaider, a prolific leakster of product videos envisioned the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a flat screen and he posted renders created by Technizo Concept in order to show us a vision of a flatter S23 Ultra. The flattened flagship is now even closer to the design language of the Galaxy Note series.
The source also claims that the Galaxy S23 range will be available in black, green, cream and lavender. Previous rumors mentioned hues like black, green, beige and pink. In spite of the renders looking legit, such angularity would pose problems for a comfortable handling. It could hurt your palms during long calls or gaming for example. There should be a balance between flat and curved.
There are some voices saying that the real thing won’t look anything like this, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
