Samsung’s next foldable flip phone is starting to come into focus. A fresh batch of high-resolution press renders has leaked online, offering our best look yet at the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip7 — and there are a few design tweaks and color choices that might surprise long-time fans.
The Z Flip7 largely keeps the sleek, squared-off design introduced with last year’s Flip6, but the newly leaked images highlight some distinctively darker, moodier colorways. The phone will reportedly ship in three main colors at launch: Jet Black, Blue Shadow, and the yet-unseen Coral Red. As with past generations, Samsung is expected to offer additional exclusive finishes through its own online store, though none of those have surfaced yet.
The Jet Black and Blue Shadow models already look significantly more refined compared to the pastel-heavy palette of the Z Flip6. Where last year’s light blue and mint tones leaned playful, these new shades come off as more sophisticated and premium. Blue Shadow in particular is a deeper, almost sapphire-like finish that stands out from anything Samsung’s used before on a Flip device.
From the renders, it appears Samsung is sticking with a similar-sized cover display as the Z Flip6. The placement of the dual rear cameras and LED flash remains unchanged. The inner screen also features a centered punch-hole camera, with no major design overhaul to speak of. Expect refinements, not reinvention.
Leaked model numbers confirm that the Galaxy Z Flip7 will come in 256GB and 512GB storage variants, with no 1TB option in sight. There’s also no official confirmation on RAM, but recent Geekbench entries point to at least 12GB of RAM for the standard Flip7 — a healthy upgrade that should boost multitasking and longevity.
In a surprise twist, Samsung is also preparing a Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, an entry-level foldable expected to feature 128GB and 256GB of storage, along with 8GB of RAM. This marks the first time Samsung is bringing its “Fan Edition” branding to its foldables, and it could open up the category to a broader audience. The FE model is rumored to come in just Black and White colorways, though no images of it have leaked yet.
We’re still waiting on official confirmation of specs like battery capacity, chipset (likely Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), and software enhancements through One UI 7 or 8. Given that Samsung’s next Unpacked event is expected in July, we likely won’t have to wait long.
For now, these renders suggest that the Flip7 is less about radical redesigns and more about refining the formula — bolder colors, higher memory ceilings, and a potential budget-friendly FE variant that could bring foldables to the mainstream.
