Sony Xperia 1 VI has just surfaced in a bunch of fresh renders, courtesy of @OnLeaks and also Android Headlines. We’re dealing with a familiar design, but also an aspect ratio change: gone is the 21:9 aspect, replaced by a more… normal one.
Turns out that the device is shorter and wider than the predecessors and may also ditch the 4K display. The new aspect is 19.5:9 and the device is said to pack a 2K+ or Quad HD+ panel, instead of the 4K from before. It’s said to measure 161.9 x 74.5 x 8.4 mm, which means it’s wider and shorter than the older models, plus 0.1 mm thicker than the Xperia 1 V.
Reports hint that the Xperia 1 VI will have a triple back camera with 3 48 MP Exmor T sensors, including a 48 MP 1/2.7 inch periscope telephoto sensor, that does 3X optical zoom and up to 6X zoom via sensor crop. The launch will happen in May, just like in the case of the predecessor. Expect 12 GB of RAM inside, or even 16 GB, plus a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
