The designers on the Esato board seem to have been on vacation for a week or two, but it’s all fine, since September kicked in and we might be seeing some new projects soon. To start the new wave of
Sony Ericsson concepts is Razec, that teases us with the following image.

We have no idea what Sony Ericsson Candela or Max are, but I’m guessing that one is the interface and the other one is some sort of cool smartphone, running Windows Mobile. The interface is very, very hot, by the way and guess what… XPERIA X2 was just officially announced. Hallelujah!

We, from Concept Phones, have seen a huge amount of
XPERIA X2 concepts and we’re quite excited to hear that the device is finally turning into a real product, that might get official soon. Right now, all we have are some live pictures of the XPERIA X2 aka Vulcan handset, that you can check out below.

Till we see some SE official announcing the phone, let’s recap its specs: 512MB of memory, GPS, a 3.5 inch WVGA OLED display, XPERIA Panels and a 8.1 megapixel camera. The X2 will support a WM 7 upgrade, PS3 Remote Play and it’s also able to do 30 fps VGA video capture.
All of you folks who designed XPERIA concepts, are you disappointed or impressed with the X1 follow-up?

With
Sony Ericsson’s Twitter account claiming that they’ll launch something new tomorrow and
XPERIA Rachael getting leaked again, in black, one can only assume that this handset will see the light of day soon. That being said, we know that Sony Ericsson might announce the XPERIA X2 tomorrow, or maybe Rachael, but they’ll surely show the world something new.

Last time we saw Rachael, it was shown in brighter colours, but still with the “leaked” status, so nothing official to brag about. Seeing “XPERIA” and “Android” on the same device makes us think that we’re actually seeing a very, very hot smartphone here, one that can easily compete with the iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97 and even Toshiba TG01.

We’ve seen the real (or not)
XPERIA X2 pictured last week and now there’s also a list of specs associated with the picture. However, after having a look at the Esato board, we’ve stumbled upon a fresh XPERIA X2 concept phone, created by user S4k1s.
The image below makes it resemble the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic quite a bit, but you’ll see that it’s got more than meets the eye.

Turns out that there’s a sliding keypad underneath that beautiful screen (touchscreen maybe?) and we’ve got no info on this concept, for now. Moving on to the real X2, we’ve heard that it comes with an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and 30 fps VGA video recording, plus a 3.5 inch touchscreen display (WVGA OLED) and an accelerometer.
XPERIA X2’s specs list also includes GPS, aGPS, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a better processor than the one on the X1, 512MB RAM, Windows Mobile 6.5 (custom) and XPERIA Panels with support for Windows Mobile 7 upgrade. Don’t forget to have a look at the real image showing the X2 in black, at the end of the article (below).

We’ve had our share of
XPERIA X2 concepts, most of them designed by the members of the Esato board, but now we’ve something more interesting on our hands: the leaked Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 handset, pictured below… or so they say.

An Engadget Mobile tipster made this public and it turns out that the new XPERIA device will be known as “Vulcan”, but that’s only the codename and not the final name of the product. The X1 follow-up comes with an X Panel button on the lower left front side and a Windows key, at the upper left side of the keypad.
Real deal or good Photoshop?

Having a look at the Esato board, I came across some neat
Sony Ericsson concept phones, designs and even a teaser of an upcoming concept. The latter was created by Razec and can be checked out below. I can spot a 8.1 megapixel camera sensor in there (if my eyes are sharp enough) and it turns out that this is the Sony Ericsson Phan concept phone.

Next up is echo.shane’s Wallet design, a concept that looks and feels like a wallet, thanks to its leather texture. It’s easy to carry in one’s hands and pocket and it turns out we’ll be finding more about this project in the future.
Finally, we get to see more of a poster than a concept phone, since dozens of XPERIA X2 designs have passed before our eyes. This Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 concept is quite a looker, keeping the same panel-based interface of the original handset and probably relying on a customized version of Windows Mobile… or maybe Symbian?

I guess I can say that the
XPERIA X2 is no longer a mystery to me, since I’ve seen at least 10 concepts of this device. One would think the designers enjoy creating Android G2 concepts, but the XPERIA has something magical about it, that makes concept creators become inspired.
This is FlamEmo’s second concept phone and the Esato user did something unique, by implementing the Symbian S60 touch platform on the X2.

Well, at least theoretically he did, as the interface reminds me of the Android OS. It could be the S60 with an Android-like skin… who knows. Spec(ulation)s? Touchscreen surely, huge internal memory, decent camera (hopefully 8 megapixel) and tons of stuff you’ve seen on the Nokia N97 specs list.

Well, I got two things right the first time I checked out Sealover94’s
concept phone: the Sony Ericsson device really is a smartphone and does feature the Android OS. And what does “smartphone” in the same sentence with Sony Ericsson tell you? That’s right, XPERIA all the way!

We’ve seen Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 concept phones before, but each handset was better looking than the last one, which is also the case of Sealover’s design. There’s even a neat logo close to the bottom of the device, an original idea that combines the Android logo with SE’s classical emblem.
Other than that, the XPERIA X2 is what everyone would expect: a smartphone that packs a pretty big touchscreen, the classic Android interface, touch-sensitive (or virtual) “Back”, “Home” and “Menu” keys, plus two calls keys at the bottom and a navigational mechanism. What more can I say? Me likey!!

Muhammad-Oli from the Esato board has shown the world his concept phones in the past and they were all greatly appreciated, but this time we’re dealing with “live” photos of a device that doesn’t even exist yet: the
XPERIA X2. How can this be achieved? Well, by Photoshopping a couple of photos and having seen and designed numerous XPERIA concepts…

This is Oli’s first live picture, pretty good for his first and we’re waiting for a brand new concept design soon, as the Esato board user claimed he has something up his sleeve.

XPERIA X2 concepts were featured on this site at least two times before, but now we’re dealing with a fine piece of work, too hot to be ignored. It’s all about the colors, the Photoshop work and that neat interface. These are really cool color dripping effects, so give the creator of this work, hydro from Esato a big “thumbs up”.
