Apple AirTags Concept Looks Pretty Legit in New Video

Apple should hold an even this month, according to the latest leaks and aside from potential tablets and smartwatches, we could finally see their AirTags launched. The device was stuck in limbo for a while now, but it may finally come to life this month. In the meantime we get to see a concept from designer 4RMD, who has some good ideas for the new product.

First of all, what’s an AirTag? If you’ve seen Samsung’s Smartag, you know exactly what to expect here. I’m talking about a small keychain style device, which can help you track your wallet, dog collar (attached to the dog hopefully), baggage, bag and more. It should be show on a map and also revealed with a radar-like system on your phone. It must also emit sounds when you activate it from the app and try to find it. The device has Bluetooth connectivity and can connect to iPhones, iPads and Macs.

AirTags are small circular tags and they’ll be marked in the Find My app. Plus you can create Safe Locations and never lose a thing again. 4RMD’s concept looks like a sleek hockey puck, or a smaller wireless charger. The device is much slimmer than I expected, definitely slimmer than the Samsung Smartag. It has a small hole so you can attach it to a metal ring and also a rather prominent Apple logo. You can pick your color and even attach it to the back of the iPhone via MagSafe, or so it seems from the video (I may be wrong).

There’s even a price mentioned, $39.99, which is not bad.
