Apple is reportedly gearing up for its biggest iPhone camera design overhaul since the iPhone 11 Pro, and if the latest leaks are to be believed, the iPhone 17 Pro is about to get a radical new look—one that some are already comparing to POCO’s budget phones.
Following the recent leaks of the iPhone 17 Air (or Slim) and its Google Pixel-like visor camera, fresh renders suggest that Apple is bringing a similar sensor bar to the Pro lineup as well. The classic triangular lens arrangement remains, but the camera module now stretches horizontally, invoking memories of devices like the Nokia 808 PureView and the Nexus 6P.
The biggest shift? This camera bar is much taller than anything Apple has done before. While earlier renders hinted at a Pixel-style horizontal alignment of lenses, these new images point to a different setup. According to the leak—originating from Front Page Tech, a YouTube channel with a solid track record for Apple scoops—the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera module features three lenses on the left, with an LED flash, microphone, and LiDAR sensor stacked on the right.
This arrangement reportedly avoids interference with Apple’s Dynamic Island, ensuring a clean design integration. But while the internet is busy debating the aesthetics, the real concern might be just how much those lenses protrude from the phone’s chassis. Leaker Majin Bu recently claimed that the iPhone 17 Pro’s camera module will be wider than the one on the iPhone 17 Air, reinforcing the idea that Apple is making significant changes to its camera tech.
Of course, it’s still early days—September is a long way off. But if these leaks hold true, Apple’s next-gen iPhone might not just look different—it could be one of the boldest design moves in years.
