We’ve had our share of iPhone concepts over the years, but it’s been a while since we last saw an Apple Watch concept. Today we stumble upon the Apple Watch X concept, with has an Ultra inspired design and a surprising FaceTime camera.
The concept comes from designer Lukas Gehrer from German design agency Wordsmattr. It feels like a slimmer Apple Watch Ultra with a Facetime camera. This is the subject of 3 months of work apparently, after collecting rumors, patents and news about the upcoming Apple Watch. The resulting product looks and feels very similar to the current Apple Watch Ultra.
The Apple Watch X is slimmer and has slightly curvier edges. It also has titanium with a darker hue. Aside from the Facetime camera, available in a cutout in the screen, there’s also a blood pressure monitor. Honestly, the whole camera thing feels a bit overkill and only Samsung tried it on its first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear.
Lately, watch rumors have addressed things like a glucose monitor of sorts, using light or breath vapors to do measurements. Or maybe new types of modular straps. Honestly I’d settle with a bigger battery life.
