Moto G86 Leak Reveals Full Specs, Design and EU-Specific Tweaks

Motorola’s upcoming Moto G86 has just leaked in full, joining the already-exposed Moto G56 and Edge 70. The new midranger has surfaced with renders and complete specifications, giving us a clear picture of what to expect ahead of its official debut.

At a glance, the Moto G86 sticks close to the design language of Motorola’s current G and Edge series—especially around the camera module. The back panel features a gently sloped camera island, a design cue reminiscent of certain OPPO models from a couple of years ago. It’s a clean, modern look that should feel right at home in 2025’s midrange landscape.

Interestingly, Motorola will reportedly offer biweekly security updates for the G86, but only in the European Union. The move is likely a direct response to the EU’s stricter security compliance mandates for smartphones.

Key Specs at a Glance

  • Display: 6.67″ pOLED, 10-bit color, 120Hz refresh rate, 1.5K resolution
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 7300
  • Memory: 8GB or 12GB RAM
  • Storage: 128GB or 256GB, with microSD slot
  • Battery: 5200 mAh in the EU, 6720 mAh elsewhere — both support 33W fast charging
  • Front Camera: 32MP
  • Rear Cameras:
  • 50MP Sony LYT-600 with OIS
  • 8MP ultrawide
  • A mystery third sensor, yet to be detailed

The regional battery variation is reportedly due to the EU’s tighter hardware certification standards. While the European model gets a slimmer battery, it helps keep the weight down to 185g and the thickness to just 7.87mm.

The Moto G86 is shaping up to be surprisingly rugged for a midrange phone. It’s said to carry both IP68 water/dust resistance and MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability. It also features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, eSIM support, and two years of guaranteed Android updates.

No word yet on pricing or release date, but considering the thoroughness of this leak, an official announcement can’t be far off.
