Today is all about the WWDC 2023 event, but something else also popped up on our radar. The Nothing Phone (2) has been shown in a render or two, courtesy of SmartPrix and @OnLeaks and while at first sight there may not seem like much novelty, there are a few changes here and there.
Nothing had already confirmed the existence of the phone, its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU and a July launch. Now we get to see the device with a new setup and placement for the Glyph LEDs, new dual LED flash placement and also curvier sides. Curvier for the frame, front and back panel. These renders have been created based on live pictures from a testing stage unit.
They show the device at a specific point during its development and some minor changes may appear. The new model has a red line LED to show that it’s filming instead of a red LED. It also seems to pack a dual camera again, with what appear to be smaller lenses. The lighting of the phone around the camera area has been switched around a bit, for a more refined look. The back has a subtle curve, similar to a 2.5D design and with a more sleek and ergonomic feel.
The frame is also rounded and we’ve got enhanced wireless charging lights: multiple small strips of light. There’s no audio jack, but we do see classics, like the left side volume buttons, Power Button, USB-C port at the bottom and speaker grille. Apparently the screen size will increase by 0.15 inches.
We also expect a pill shaped video indicator on the back and aluminum frame. 3 years of Android updates have been promised.
