Leave it to Ben Geskin to show us the OnePlus concept phone of 2021, on a weekend. He created not one, but two proposals for the way the future OnePlus flagship could end up looking. This OnePlus Pro (2021) is portrayed with both a round camera and also a vertical one. We also have some specs.

First of all, the diagonal is pretty big, but doesn’t go overboard, like the Galaxy S20 Ultra did, with its huge 6.9 incher. Here we get a 6.7 inch AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a Quad HD+ resolution. By the way, the refresh rate stays on when the highest resolution is applied. Inside we find the next gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 processor, accompanied by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. There’s also a technology inspired by the OnePlus Concept Phone: the electrochromic glass, that creates the “invisible camera”.

Basically, when a current passes through a special type of glass it can change its properties and even make it transparent or opaque. There’s Warp Charge 60T this time around, for Oppo level fast charging (like SuperVOOC), as well as 60W wireless charging, that sounds crazy, but it’s welcome. The screen is not troubled by any sort of notch or punch hole, so I imagine the selfie camera is hidden in the screen. We also get a huge 5000 mAh battery and the following camera setup:
- 64 MP
- 64 MP ultrawide
- 16 MP telephoto, 3x/10x optical zoom
- 3D ToF sensor
- Selfie: in display 16 MP camera
The device itself looks very rounded and minimalistic, but the back side feels a bit like a battery case attached to an iPhone, or the 360 camera module for a Moto Z. It feels weird not being able to see the cameras. Maybe on a different color it will look better?
