The summer of 2024 is shaping up to be the most hectic yet in the smartphone arena, with top manufacturers skipping vacations to launch new models. Amid the flood of foldable devices, traditional candybar phones are still making waves, such as the highly anticipated OnePlus Nord 4, set to debut officially on June 16 in Milan.
In anticipation of this event, we now have official images of the Nord 4, which had previously confirmed its metal construction—a refreshing change in materials. Years ago, metal-bodied smartphones were the norm, with OnePlus among the brands featuring such designs. A notable example from that era is the HTC One M7.
Now, metal makes a comeback with the OnePlus Nord 4, available in black and green, featuring a special gradient finish on the metal frame. The camera area is encased in glass, the body boasts flat edges, ultra-slim bezels, and the ever-useful mute slider.
Specifications include a 6.74-inch 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 7+ Gen3 processor, and a 5500 mAh battery with 100W wired charging. The rear camera setup consists of a 50 MP OIS wide camera and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, with the latter hopefully featuring autofocus. For selfies, there’s a 16 MP front camera. The Nord 4 also offers a USB-C port, IP65 certification, an under-display optical fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers. This smartphone is truly enticing, and I can’t wait to get my hands on the green variant at launch.
