OPPO Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro and Reno 9 Pro Plus Rendered and Specced

OPPO is supposed to debut the Reno 9 phone series this month in China and it will probably bring it to Europe next year. We’ve seen and heard multiple rumors regarding these devices, with specs included, but today we get to finally see some detailed renders. First impression? The camera module size has decreased… a bit.

OPPO Reno 8 Pro had a huge camera module, so much so that it resembled the Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy S21 Ultra one. Now OPPO is taking a step back and making the camera area flush, at least on one of the three models. These renders come courtesy of Evan Blass, also known as @Evleaks. OPPO Reno 9, Reno 9 Pro and OPPO Reno 9 Pro Plus appear here in a sort of rose gold/purple, gold and green-blue respectively. The last hue reminds me of the Reno 8 Pro.

The devices appear to be very slim, particularly the Reno 9 and they’re said to all adopt the 6.7 inch diagonal, with an OLED panel and 120 Hz refresh rate. There’s a Snapdragon 778G CPU on the base model and a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 on the other two. Reno 9 has a 64 MP Omnivision main camera, plus a secondary sensor, probably a Macro/Bokeh 2 MP shooter. Or it may be a Telemacro unit with a 5 MP res. A 32 MP Sony sensor will be present upfront, for selfie duties.

The Reno9 Pro Plus will have a main 50 MP Sony IMX766 camera, plus most likely an ultrawide 50 MP shooter, possibly also a Macro and Bokeh came, with low res. It’s very hard to differentiate phones nowadays, so the Marisilicon NPU will make the difference, for image processing duties.
