The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11 Ultra were ultimate flagships when they debuted, with top notch and rare specs, that made the top of the food chain in Xiaomi’s lineup. One had the crazy fast charging (120W) and the other a back side secondary screen. And now here comes Xiaomi 12 Ultra, with leaked cases turned into renders by Ben Geskin.
First of all, the cases have a crazy number of camera holes for the main cam: 8 of them. Well Ben took the images and put a cam in each hole, where it was possible. Thus, a third or more of the back side will be taken up by the main camera module, which is quite hefty. At its core, this is a quad camera setup, that should maybe include the new 200 megapixel sensor that Samsung announced this year.
We’ll also get two telephoto cameras and one may be periscopic with a 10X optical zoom. Then we have the ultrawide camera, said to be a 50 MP shooter. One of the telephoto cameras may also have a 50 MP sensor with OIS. The other 4 holes include the LED flash, a potential LiDAR, a microphone or two and a color sensor. The device is expected to sport a 120 Hz OLED curved screen with at least 6.8 inches diagonal size.
A Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU is inside, plus at least 16 GB of RAM and a 5000 mAh battery with 120W charging. Expect a hefty price, a very thick machine and also very heavy, probably ready to dominate DxOMark. Ben Geskin’s latest post also seems to show us 120X zoom here and an unveiling date of December 28th.
