Over the past year big phone makers have been battling to see which one can deliver faster charging. They went from 100W to 120W and 200W pretty fast, but nobody is talking about battery degradation. The usual suspects are Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, also Realme and even Huawei has a tech for 200W charging. Now Infinix steps into the ring and this is a company from Hong Kong with headquarters in France. They’ve just unveiled the Infinix Concept Phone 2021.
The Infinix Concept Phone 2021 joins the fast charging trend and offers 160W charging, which takes the device from zero to 100% charge in just 10 minutes. It also helps that it has a 4000 mAh battery, not a bigger one. Since it’s a concept phone, it also showcases other features that the company is working on like a color changing back panel. The Ultra Flash Charge system is based on an 8C battery, with 18% lower internal resistance compared to a 6C battery. There’s also a Super Charge Pump here, used to convert voltage from the USB-C port to the voltage that goes into the battery.
The pump is said to have 98.6% efficiency. To protect all the ensemble from heat problems, the Concept Phone 2021 has 20 temperature sensors all around the device. Their aim is to keep everything below 40 degrees Celsius. In total there are 60 security mechanisms. Of course we also have a special charger here, a 160W Gallium Nitrate (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) semiconductor-based unit. Infinix Concept Phone 2021 also has 50W wireless charging.
Aside from that there’s the electrochromic back side which changes color and has a “NOW” logo that offers a breathing light pulsing when you charge the phone. Upfront we find a 6.67 inch AMOLED screen with 88 degree curvature. We shouldn’t also miss the periscopic 135 mm lens, that uses digital zoom for 60x magnification.
