There are a few companies that have yet to adopt edge to edge screens on their smartphones and we’re talking about big names here like Huawei or Sony, but also OnePlus, that has yet to make this move. This may happen with the OnePlus 6, that has already been rendered and predicted by the folks of Techconfigurations. Let’s check out their concept.
First of all, the device clearly draws inspiration from the iPhone X, but it gets a symmetrical approach, of that earpiece/sensor area. That happens with a piece at the top of the facade and one at the bottom. I’m not sure if there are also high end sensors included in both areas, or just speakers. What’s certain is that the device has a crazy screen to body ratio of 94%.
That hasn’t been achieved so far, since even 83% is quite a high number at the moment. The 2018 OnePlus flagship has a 19 megapixel dual main camera, an alert slider and an iris scanner upfront. There’s also a 16 megapixel ultra wide front camera, a Snapdragon 845 processor and up to 8 GB of RAM. The body seems to be made of metal, but it has an interesting texture, more matte than usual.
The logo at the back lights up and the fingerprint scanner is embedded in the screen. This is a very long phone, in the vein of the Galaxy Note 8 even. I would see this happening, but not with those big cutouts at the front side.
