Over the past 48 hours everybody has been fussing about the fact that the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have received square cameras. That’s according to the leaksters, starting with @OnLeaks. For a while there we weren’t sure how many cameras are at the back, but now we learn some new info and we also see fresh renders from Albama Fadhal.

These come after the designer already rendered the design in classical fashion, with the horizontally aligned back camera. If you look closely, you’ll see that these renders are actually a bit different from the ones going around the web right now. There’s an extra lime color I’d call it, plus the notch is still present. Rumors say that we’re not going to see notches, replaced by an actual “full forehead” of the device.

The whole top front side is going to be black and integrate dual cameras, infrared sensors, the works. Also, Albama integrated the 3 cameras at the back in an “L” shape, while the likes of Ben Geskin and Unbox Therapy have shown us a sort of triangle approach, with one camera at the top and two at the bottom.

There’s a big LED LED flash below them there, but here it’s in the top right corner and it’s smaller. Interestingly, the designer also showed us another version of the phone, full forehead and all, plus a bottom LED flash and two cameras at the top. There’s rumor that there will be a special “spectral sensor” in the camera setup, whatever that means.

Expect more renders over the next days!
