The Google Pixel came as one of the last flagships of 2016 and also brought the best camera of the past year. The Google Pixel 2 thus has huge shoes to fill and now we have a glance at its concept, supposed to be the Google flagship of 2017. Techconfigurations is the one that rendered it.

The smartphone has a glass and metal design, plus it’s waterproof this time. I’m pretty sure it will still be made by HTC and for some reason it doesn’t switch to a dual camera, which is all the rage right now. It does get a 12 megapixel ultra wide camera for selfies. Gorilla Glass 5 is used as panels for the front and back, with a metal frame sandwich between.

Specs are rather typical, from the Snapdragon 835 CPU, to the dual front speakers and main 16 megapixel camera. The back is a bit rounded and the general format of the device and frame seem to be a testament to what HTC has been doing over the past year with the Pixel and HTC 10. I think those shiny metal edges should be replaced with matte ones, because there’s simply too much gloss here and using this during a torrid summer day would be hell.
