One of the biggest failures that Microsoft ever made was not the Zune, not the Surface RT and not Windows 8. It’s the Kin phone, that lived about a few weeks before getting canned. What’s weird is that its design was actually kind of cool, that’s why we still get concepts such as this one here.
The Kin One 2, created by Deviantart member SaphFan32, who made a 2.5 inch diagonal handset. Such a small phone could instantly become a smart watch with a special belt attached to it. The Kin One 2 is a budget WP8 device with a 1 GHz dual core Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 5 megapixel Sharp camera and 8 GB of storage.
There’s no SD card slot and the screen is a 2.5 inch 4:3 320 x 240 LCD with LED backlight. Inside there’s an Adreno 305 GPU and the Kin One 2 also comes with Bluetooth 3.0, HSPA+ and 5 hours of battery life on 3G. The product costs as little as $50 off contract, which is crazy good. Will this ever happen?
