Synaptics demos in the video below its next generation touchscreen solution, Clearpad 3000, supporting multifinger capability. Up to 10 fingers will be able to interact with what might be the iPhone 4G’s display. Here’s the technology in action:

This new kind of touchscreen will enable multifinger unlocking gestures, independent tracking of fingers and even gestures like “crumpling” a virtual paper to close an app. Games will be more fun to play, people will be able to play pianos on their touchscreens and type on the virtual keyboard with both hands.
