2018 is here and with it comes the first Samsung Galaxy Note 9 concept phone, one that sports both a notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The device is pictured below and it also gets a detailed video courtesy of the YouTube channel Science and Knowledge.

Samsung Galaxy S9 may not sport a fingerprint scanner embedded in the display, but the Galaxy Note 9 sure will. It may be the Synaptics technology, or some proprietary Samsung tech, we don’t know that for sure. It seems that aside from that sensor, we also get a sort of Face ID-like mechanism, integrated at the top front side of the device and confirmed by the notch, that feels like the iPhone X one.

Just like its predecessor, the Note 9 has a narrow format with curved sides and glass at the back. It goes to 8 GB of RAM, has a dual back camera and adopts the brand new ultra resilient Gorilla Glass 6. It’s dust and water resistant of course and somehow I find its notch to be sexier than the iPhone X one. Bezels are virtually noo existant here, with the image going all the way to the bottom side of the facade.

A 6.4 inch Infinity Display is in the mix, with a 2960 x 1440 pixel resolution and a 3D Touch Home Button too. The battery jumps to a 3850 mAh capacity, by the way.
