Last week Concept Creator teased a badass new Sony Xperia concept phone, that didn’t have a name back then. Now in 2018 the device just got real, through the video presentation below. It’s known as the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium.
First of all, did you see the size of those speakers? They look pretty badass and I’m sure they output over 100 decibels with ease. The overall format doesn’t stray in a huge way from the Omnibalance design, with a rectangular core format and slightly arched corners. Sides are a bit more angular than the Xperia XZ1, I think. I’m loving the whole Armani stripe thing that the designer is trying with that wallpaper.
Another good piece of news is that we still have an audio jack here. There’s a dual camera, but without a fancy design, just two holes covered with lenses. I find it interesting that the front camera is presented as part of a row of holes for the speakers. Minimalism seems the key here and I’m loving the hue of blue used for the back.
The unibody metal approach (or is it glass at the back?) makes sense. I’ve seen this design approach in a few other new Xperia concepts, so I guess the real thing will be close to it. Am I the only fan of those speakers upfront?
