Last year Samsung, Xiaomi and OnePlus went neck to neck at the end of the year with a brand new segment of smartphone. I like to call it “wannabe flagship”, because it desperately wants to be a flagship, but it doesn’t go all out. Galaxy S20 FE 5G was one, OnePlus 8T was one and also Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro. Now, as we’re anxiously waiting for the Galaxy S21 FE, the device has just been rendered in 3D and unveiled by Evan Blass.
The device is expected to come in October, after one or two delays on account of the component and chipset crisis. The camera design is inspired by the Galaxy S21 camera, that blends the main shooter with the frame. We’re getting a 6.4 inch Super AMOLED panel here with a 120 Hz refresh rate. Inside we should find either a Snapdragon 888 processor or an Exynos 2100, together with 6 or 8 GB of RAM, plus 128 or 256 GB of storage.
Evan Blass shows us multiple color versions here: white, green, gray, violet and blue. We should also have a 32 MP front shooter with a small punch hole, while the back camera is pretty run of the mill, with a 12 MP main shooter, 8 MP 3X Optical zoom telephoto cam and also a 12 MP ultrawide shooter. Then there’s a 4500 mAh battery with 45W charging. Honestly, to me this sounds just like a Galaxy S20 FE 5G with a newer CPU…
What’s an incentive to get it, a selling point?
