Sony Xperia XT Pro is the latest in the series of Sony Xperia concepts and this one is rendered by Fahad Khan. It’s an enthusiastic design, that feels very old school, while also getting new school specs. It’s got a Snapdragon 845 CPU and a design that takes me back a bit to about 3-4 years ago.

Fahad Khan opted for 4 cameras to be included here, a bold statement, considering that Sony barely moved to a main dual camera on the Xperia XZ2 Premium. The handset packs a 6.2 inch OLED screen with HDR and 2960 x 1440 pixels. 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage are also here, plus a 3500 mAh battery with wireless charging. It all sounds pretty good for 2018, but not enough for 2019, particularly the CPU.

Available in Steel Spark Silver and Deep Dive Black, the product has Ambient Flow Visualization and special acoustics thanks to a Dynamic Vibration System and S Force Front Surround. I can’t see any front side speakers here, so maybe there’s actually on the bottom and top. The dual cameras are also discretely integrated. I’m not a big fan of the texture of the back side, that feels a bit grainy and makes the surface feel uncertain.

Is it glass? Maybe metal? Nobody knows for sure, but it’s just a concept so the Xperia XT Pro could be made of anything, ceramics included. Also I feel that the top and bottom bezels are rather big.
