Today brings us sad news for iPad enthusiasts, as it would appear that Apple isn’t going to showcase any new iPads during the event taking place tomorrow. So, the iPad Mini 6 will be a no show, in spite of the large number of leaks it has registered. At least we have a concept trailer of it below to console ourselves.
The device has been rendered by designer 4RMD and we have here a bigger screen, jumping from 7.9 inches on the first 5 iPad Minis to an 8.8 inch Liquid Retina panel. It offers a 90 Hz refresh rate, even though 120 Hz was expected rather. The slate has support for Apple Pencil, an USB-C connector and also a Smart Connector, as well as Touch ID in an upper Power button inspired by the iPad Air 4.
There are stereo speakers, improved cameras and 5 gorgeous colors. The CPU inside the iPad Mini 6 is an Apple A14 Bionic, the same CPU from the iPhone 12 series. There’s a new “all screen design” here, with a Liquid Retina Display that has very narrow bezels and ditches the space taken by the large Home button, which is no longer needed. We have a singular back camera here, probably a 12 MP shooter, if not the typical 8 MP one.
Expect a price of $399 for the device, October availability and a 5G version too.
