Believe it or not Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will swap the 108 MP camera with a 50 megapixel one. The info comes from leakster Ben Geskin, who also treats us to a brand new render of the phone. Xiaomi Mi 11 was launched in late 2020, but we’ve yet to see a Mi 11 Pro. It should come in February.
The aging 108 megapixel sensor is about to get swapped for a brand new 50 MP camera, not very different from the one Huawei gets for the P50 Pro. The ISOCELL Bright HMX 108 MP shooter on the Mi 11 is considered old right now, since it’s 2019 material.
As far as the design is concerned, the facade is all Mi 10, nothing’s changed, curves, narrow bezels and all, plus punch hole. The back brings the change, with a new type of module. The main cam has a ring around it and all the camera lenses seem to have pretty much the same size.
The lack of a periscope camera worries me, since that’s become a staple of true flagships. Xiaomi may compensate somehow, especially since there’s an inscription saying “120X zoom” in there. The back side is covered with glass, matte/frosted glass of course. Expect a Sony sensor for the ultrawide camera too, maybe also the tele one. I honestly like this design more than the past few Huawei P50 Pro leaks. As far as the Galaxy S21 is concerned, the wraparound camera is sure growing on me…
