Shaik Imaduddin just sent me an iPhone 5 concept that features a tiny round touchscreen for a Home button. This function is used particularly for notifications, with phone, messages, email and more being shown in that area. Swiping up from the Home button will launch the associated application and this touch area will show the weather or time while in sleep mode.
As far as the new iPhone design is concerned, it looks like an average rectangle to me, maybe with rounded bottom and top edges, but I can’t tell that from the angle these renders were done. Also, the bezel seems pretty thin, which is always a step forward towards achieving that rumored edge to edge display that everyone was raving about in 2011. As far as the touch home button is concerned, it would really be an useful feature, especially if you added some luminous pattern to it, triggered by the music from the iPod app.
It could also show the Apple logo lighting up when the handset starts, just like some people had the Apple logo on the back of the iPhone glowing at startup through customization. with some extra messing around, you could also implement sort of viewfinder function for this secondary touchscreen, to work with the camera… so much stuff you can do with it!

Antonio De Rosa, the man behind ADR Studio shows us his newest iPhone concept, the iPhone SJ, a tribute to Steve Jobs. This beautiful device is a futuristic vision of the way an iPhone of the future could look like. The iPhone SJ packs a capacitive touchscreen made completely of glass and a polycarbonate body for a shell.
The result is a very light phone, that features an Apple A6 dual core processor and a 10 megapixel camera, speculated specs of this concept device. Using polycarbonate for the chassis worked fine for Nokia with the N9, so why not adopt this idea for the newest iPhone as well? As you can see here we’re dealing with an edge to edge screen that looks larger than 3.5 inches, so we may be dealing with that 4+ inch Retina Display we’ve all been craving for.
An elongated home button is also present, a sign that gestures are coming, possibly in iOS 6.0. The design of the iPhone SJ is very thin, maybe thinner than the iPhone 4S, so it may even reach 7mm through the technologic advances. For me, this design combines the look of the older iPhone 3G/3GS units with the iPhone 4/4S design direction, with the result being a modern handset with a very beautiful facade and an interesting way to integrate volume buttons.

There’s a certain feeling of satisfaction when you start to see the last concept iPhone units before the real launch. The next iPhone is coming on October 4th and till then we have a bunch of concepts and design to show you, starting to Enrico Penello’s iPhone 4S mockup.
He imagined a new Apple handset that makes up for all the errors and problems of the iPhone 4 and even offers a few extras. This model brings stuff like the textured plastic back, for enhanced grip, a removable battery (finally!) and a fixed lower cover for the wireless antenna. Of course, iOS 5 is the operating system and on board you’ll also find an 8 megapixel camera and a speedy Apple A5 processor.
Notice the black and sleek case that this iPhone 4S has and imagine it with iOS 5 and a bunch of new feats. Most of us want to see an entirely new iPhone, with a modified design, but sadly it seems that the iPhone 5/4S will actually be the last generation plus few tweaks here and there. Well, at least the dual core CPU is good news.

With all of the recent iPhone 5 rumors, Apple fans forgot to check out the speculations about a tinier iPhone, the nano version. Well, now comes this concept to remind us all that such a device could actually exist We’re dealing here with a shortened iPhone 4 that got a very interesting way of input.
This device is designed by Zeki Ozek, who proposes a shorter iPhone with the ability to swipe the user’s finger for background apps. Also, fingerprints work for NFC payments and purchases in the app store. This model looks quite a bit like the iPhone 4, except for the fattie profile. Don’t expect any of these features on the iPhone 5, but maybe on the iPhone 6… who knows?!
This would make a really fine iPhone nano, or maybe a new media player from the iPod Touch series, but one with NFC support as extra.

We’ve seen so many iPhone 5 concepts that we can’t keep track of them, but now here’s a new one made by Michal Bonikowski. This new model doesn’t bring much of a change to the iPhone 4 and its design reminds me quite a bit of a combo between the iPad 2 and somehow the HTC HD7.
This iPhone 5 is an all metal handset, with an aluminum case, steel frame and most likely a Retina Display with a diagonal increase. Also, we learn that the key features have moved on from mechanical to sensory. I guess that only in September we’ll know how close Michal was to the real thing, but till then we have this concept to glance at.
I have to mention that it’s one of the few models not to adopt the edge to edge display idea, that has been extremely popular recently on iPhone concepts.

TJ Kohl is a name we’ve heard in relation to the Str1pe phone conceptand now he’s back to deliver an appealing iPhone 5 design. The device is pictured below and it relies an LED rights on the lower right side to notify you of the smartphone’s functioning mode.
Also, TJ Kohl informs us that the Home button is clickable, like the magic trackpad and the ambient light sensor can determine the backlight for the Home button and the screen. As far as the LED lights are concerned, they’ll show the battery life in green, flash white for unread notifications, become orange when no connection or service is available and flash red for low battery life.
This project was made in Photoshop, using paths and vectors, in case you’re wondering.

With the iPhone 5 speculated to arrive this fall, we have a long time to wait and check out concepts, like the one below. Created by H.D.I Design the iPhone 5 Carbon packs a 4 inch display, with a 1120 x 780 pixel resolution. There’s also an 8 megapixel camera on board, capable of 1080p HD 30 fps video capture.
Said camera uses a dual LED flash and the housing of the device is made of carbon and glass. At the inside we find the Apple A8 processor, which is a mystery to us, especially considering that the latest CPU from Cupertino was the A5 dual core one @ almost 1GHz. Supposedly, the battery on this handset provides up to 8 hours of 4G functioning time and up to 18 hours on WiFi.
The iPhone 5 concept above fits pretty well with the recent rumors, saying that the new iPhone will have a 4 inch screen, dual core CPU, no physical Home button and smaller bezels.

Keep looking for more iPhone nano mockups on our site and here’s a new one, in case you want fresh meat. This one belongs to Dorian, who claims that the new iPhone nano will be totally covered by the screen and lack buttons. The single buttonon it will the top on/off one.
The screen dimension of the original iPhone will be kept and the device will lack a front camera, only relying on the back 3.2 megapixel one. No Retina Display is meant for this baby and the $199 price tag is also speculated. What do you say?

Well, isn’t that sweet? We’ve just found an interesting article on 9to5mac.com referring to the future and smaller iPhone. While the iPhone 5 is supposed to sport a 4 inch display, Apple might also launch that mythical iPhone nano. This generated some mockups on the site we just mentioned.
Supposedly, the new smaller model will be codenamed N97 and it’ll be half the size of the current iPhone, while costing $49 on contract. Speculations also say that the new device is “all screen” and it goes all the way to the edges. The Home button will also be lacking… Will you buy such a gizmo or be happy with a mere iPhone concept?

The thing that first jumped out when checking out this iPhone concept made by Zeki Özek was the way the camera was incorporated in it. As you can see, the photo shooting sensor is hidden behind the Apple logo on the back, complete with LED Flash.
The iPhone NG also sports a back touch wheel, an optic mouse laser and laser cover, allowing you to use the device as a Magic Mouse. A front camera can be found on the facade of the handset, while the device’s specs list includes an FM receiver and transmitter with car audio integration and angle sensors at the corner of the display, under the glass.
iPhone NG reads RFID barcodes and tags, which is good for shopping and surprisingly enough gamers get something extra: volume buttons used to play, just like the L1 and R1 buttons on the PSP. Other features are WiFi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer and computer syncing. Now let’s see what Apple has done with the iPhone 5…
